Meet Jamie

Jamie in Focus

A Personal Introduction

Growing up in Los Angeles with an artist for a mother and an entrepreneur for a father, I was drawn to design aesthetics from a young age. My home was unique, and the unconventional perspective I developed there really shaped who I am today. Being surrounded by the vibrant entertainment industry during the 70s and 80s, I encountered an array of colorful characters—writers, painters, athletes, actors, and creative business minds. Inspiration was never in short supply.

After high school, I headed to Parsons School of Design in New York City to continue my studies. It was there that I met my now-husband, David Jeter, in 1992. Both of us were at San Francisco College of Art, diving into painting and sculpture while exploring art history. David’s deep knowledge of art and world history, combined with his fresh, brilliant designs, paired perfectly with my ability to understand and innovate home design.

In 1997, driven by our passion for connecting with communities and our shared love for art and design, David and I founded Jamie Young Company. We wanted to address a gap in the home furnishings world with pieces that reflect elegance and a bohemian spirit. For over 27 years, we’ve worked together under Jamie Young Co., crafting design-driven, approachable pieces inspired by our travels and our Southern California home. We bring a touch of casual elegance and quiet luxury to home design, rooted in our love for art, architecture, and adventure.

The mission remains the same: to infuse your surroundings with layers of relaxed,
understated elegance that resonates with the way we live our everyday lives. Every product we introduce is carefully thought out, whether it’s a show-stopping centerpiece or a more subtle product, content in its supporting role. We strive to make each piece feel truly special with a timeless approach to design.
Thank you for entrusting us to be a part of your creative journey.
