From Design Table to Tradeshow Floor: Jamie’s Creative Process Behind the January 2025 Collection
Behind the Collection
As we reflect on the successful launch of our January 2025 Collection, I’m excited to share the journey behind this season’s designs. This collection was an exploration of texture, color, and form, with a deep focus on refined materials and finishes. It’s a collection that feels incredibly special to me, not only because of the pieces themselves, but because of the energy they continue to bring to spaces everywhere.
Embracing the Unexpected with Reactive Glazes
One of the standout features of this collection was our embrace of reactive glazes. Working with ceramics is always an exciting process, but this season, we pushed the boundaries further by experimenting with glazes that reacted in unexpected ways. The beauty of reactive glazes lies in their unpredictability, the way they shift and change as they cure, creating one-of-a-kind patterns and textures. This made each piece feel like a true work of art.
The ceramics we launched were some of the most special pieces I’ve seen in a long time. Each one was carefully crafted, with a focus on the organic beauty of the glaze. The results were stunning, with glazes coming to life in the light and revealing rich layers and subtle variations. There was something deeply satisfying about how these pieces evolved naturally, almost as though they were shaped by time and nature itself.
A Serene Color Palette for Calm and Sophistication
When it came to color, I wanted to evoke a sense of serenity and calm, but with enough depth to make a statement. We embraced soothing hues of blues, taupes, and greens—colors that could seamlessly blend into any space but still had the presence to stand out. The goal was to create pieces that were distinctive enough to catch the eye but subtle enough to enhance the mood of a room.
Working within this serene color palette allowed for versatility. These colors were timeless, yet they felt fresh and modern. I found that they complemented any surrounding décor, whether in a minimalist, neutral space or paired with bolder accents. The result was a collection that had a soothing, harmonious quality but also sparked visual interest.
Shapes with Flowing Curves and Movement
Another key element of this collection was the focus on shapes. I wanted to highlight the beauty of flowing lines, curves, and organic forms. There was a dynamic energy in these shapes that brought life to solid pieces, and it was incredibly rewarding to design objects that felt alive and full of movement, even while remaining stationary. Whether it was the curve of a vase or the gentle undulation of a ceramic platter, every piece in this collection was designed to inspire a sense of fluidity and grace.
The movement in these pieces was meant to reflect the natural flow of life itself. I wanted to create objects that not only served a purpose but also sparked an emotional response. These shapes were about balance between elegance and energy, simplicity and complexity. They brought a visual rhythm to any room, adding a quiet vitality and a unique presence.
A Collection that Inspires Life and Vibrancy
Looking back, what I’m most proud of is how this collection has inspired a sense of life and vibrancy in the spaces it’s touched. The ceramics, with their unique textures and glazes, the refined color palette, and the flowing shapes, each piece was designed to elevate a space and bring energy into the home. My goal was always to create more than just beautiful objects. I wanted to craft pieces that invited people to pause, appreciate, and connect with their environment in a deeper way.
Now that the collection has launched, I am filled with gratitude and joy as I see how these pieces are being embraced in homes. It’s been an incredible journey from design to launch, and I hope these creations continue to inspire and add a fresh, vibrant touch to spaces around the world.
